Herr Rudolph Hachmann gründete das Unternehmen im Jahre 1881. Nach der Kultivierung der Vanillepflanze im Jahre 1822 auf Réunion (damals: Île Bourbon) war er einer der ersten Importeure für Bourbon Vanilleschoten in Europa.
